Bold words...we will never forget

We will never forget--bold words woven together. It was a normal day, most of us starting off our day as always until we heard the news, saw the images. Evil brought hell to us that day.

I went home that evening and like so many Americans I sat in front of the TV with tears flowing--not on the couch or chair as normal but on the floor as close as I could get to the screen and to the devastation. I thought, just maybe I could be more of a comfort to those in need or maybe I needed to be close so I would believe myself. This. Was. Real.

I watched as people pleaded to the cameras for anybody who may have news about their sons, daughters, children, parents, grandparents, friends. I saw the ash covered faces. Blank stares. I saw heroes in our policemen, our emergency workers, our firefighters, and those heroes in silence, those whose stories still remain untold.

I saw death that day. And I saw hope and God within the rubble, the loss. Remembering the events of 9/11 always takes me back to His Holy Word where comfort and hope is always found. And the promise that God was still on the throne then and a promise that remains true and certain today.

Micah 7:8--Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

And these verses—and pay close attention to the numbers of the verses...

Psalm 37, verses 9-11.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

But the meek shall inherit the earth: and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

September 11, 2001. I pray I never forget.

Tathel, God has given you to us and I am forever thankful for his generosity. Oh how I love…the You, who so elegantly puts into words, captures in images, the quiet, inner thoughts, of we who care so very much. May God continue to bless and keep you🙏🏻❤️
